First Steps!

Today June 30th...4 days shy of 11 months Cameron took his first steps!!! Jason and I went out to dinner at Firebirds (Father's Day wish was to get some Elk from there--not as good as we heard it was)...were just a little late getting there. Anyways Grandmommy and Grandaddy watched Cameron for us while we went to grab dinner and make a quick trip to Publix. When I got back Dad said "Cameron walk on over to mom", and I kinda laughed and he took THREE steps to me! I can't tell you how excited I was/a little sad to see my baby so grown up and walking on his own! I was so proud and wanted to cry. He took one step to me the other day but I wasn't sure if it counted until he took multiple steps. Well he definitely did it. I believe his first real steps were to his granddaddy right before we got back to pick him up and then his longest stretch of steps were to me when he saw me come in the room. I believe this little guy is about to start roaming on his own. It looked so unreal to me to see my baby taking steps. What a HUGE milestone!

Hair Cut

Last weekend we finally got Cameron's hair cut! I am Jason' s regular barber but did not feel confident cutting a wiggly worm 10 month old's hair for the first time. I'm sure he will thank me later for that!

Last Friday we took him to Sports Clip over by Publix in Hoover. The girls working there were so friendly and kind to us. Cameron's stylist was very patient with us. She pulled out a booster for him to sit on, but I told her I didn't think that would last very long. Of course he ended up in my lap. He did great...wiggled alot and needed alot of distraction such as daddy and the vaccum cleaner that another worker pulled out to entertain him with. I told the lady I didn't blame her if it ended up not quite perfect...since her client doesn't know what the word "still" means yet!

Afterwards we went to snobiz and enjoyed a blue hawaii. Cameron really liked it, especially dipping his hands into it.

Big Boy Carseat!

So technically we are 8 weeks away from being 1 year old! By the way does that make my baby a toddler when he reaches one?? (Steph, you agree he can still be a baby right)? I definitely will still consider him my baby and not a toddler by any means! Anyways we've been storing Cameron's big boy carseat over at my mom and dad's ever since we received it at one of our baby showers. The other day when we were at my parents I asked Jason to go ahead and load it in our car so we would have it back at our house. However, when I got out to the car to put Cameron in his seat when we were leaving his infant carrier carseat was in the trunk! Jason had the new one ready to go. So I guess we are transitioning him a little early. He has reached the required 20 lbs mark just not the year one quite yet. His feet were dangling off the edge of his little one though. It is kinda a bitter-sweet thing to see him in his big seat. We had just finished extensively cleaning his infant seat a couple of days before so I guess it's ready to be stored away until baby number two. I put it in a garbage bag and carried it up to the attic. He looks so big in his new seat!!! He seems to like it and looks very comfy. My sweet big guy is also growing out of his "baby baby toys"...wow time is flying by so quickly!

Sidenote: I think his new favorite person is his Grandaddy!!! It's funny how attached he is to my Dad! I believe he is the only person Cameron will reach out to from my arms to take him.

10 Months Old!

Today my sweet baby boy is 10 months old! It's amazing how quickly these past ten months have gone by and what is even more amazing is how much Cameron has changed and grown during that time. It's hard for me to remember just how little he was when he was born.

I absolutely love being at home with him each day and sharing every moment with him. He continues to look more like a big boy and less like a baby, especially when I see him sleeping in his toddler bed.
Did I mention he likes his feet propped up?

He is pulling up on absolutely everything! He can go from one thing to the next as long as it's in arms reach for him. I believe his favorite thing right now is walking with his walker. Of course I'm a nervous mommy when he's standing on the hardwood floors like this: I'm just trying to let him explore. Jason put a few more cushions on the corners of tables so I feel a little more comfortable now. :)

Oh yeah, and I think he really might know that I'm "mama". I was trying to get him down for a nap the other day and needed to get something so called Jason in to take my place. The whole time he sat in his lap staring at the door saying "mama mama mama". When I came back in he reached up and stopped calling and fell asleep on my shoulder. Maybe it was coincidence but deep down I think he knows. :)

Lots going on!

So I'm not very good with keeping up with my blog....during Cameron's naptimes (about twice a day I often find myself doing other things)...lately that has been searching for coupons online. I've gotten carried away with it lately, but have also saved our family alot of money by doing so. I'm not hard-core where I'm going from store to store. Basically I stick to Publix. It is my favorite grocery store and I love their BOGO sales and the fact that they take competitor coupons and double anything up to .50 cents! Last week I was able to spend about $18 and save almost $40! I was pretty excited about that receipt! Anyways on to other things...

My sister Heather her husband Alex and 3 kids came to visit last week from Michigan. I loved getting to spend time with all of them and have our entire family all together. It is always a great time and something I treasure to have everyone together. I hadn't seen them since Cameron was about 3 weeks old. At that point I was consumed with pumping and learning how to breastfeed that I didn't get to "visit" too much during that trip. Cameron got to see them almost everyday this time and enjoyed playing with his cousins! Caleb referred to him as "the baby" and seemed to take the most interest in him. I think these two will be great friends and hopefully one day will be a little closer than Michigan!

Cameron has been saying mama alot now! I'm not sure if he is really referring to me or not, but I like to think that he is! He has been a sick little boy lately. We have been fortunate that he has really only had two colds up to this point (3 now). I've been debating on taking him to the Dr. Tomorrow if he's still running a fever I'm going to go ahead and call. Sweet boy, rarely rests his head and is going all the time, however this past week has been a different story. He hasn't really been winey just not himself.
