Say Cheese!

I tell you what...this boy enjoys a good ole piece of cheese. Like I've mentioned before we never really did much of the jar baby food. We just let Cameron usually eat whatever were eating (minus peanut butter, eggs and cows milk, and of course none soft food). He gets alot of dairy from yogurt and cheese, plenty of fruit from mandarian oranges, pears, strawberries, grapes (sucks on apple slices) and the occasional banana...but we are probably lacking in the veggie department. He has had black beans and seems to really enjoy those. The problem here lately is he doesn't want smashed up food or the little pieces of things that I break up for him...he wants to eat it just let we do. The other day I smashed up banana for him but he insisted on eating it just like you and I would. Luckily with those two bottom teeth he is able to break things up pretty good now.

This afternoon Cameron and Daddy were playing around and I just thought these pics were cute. Hearing him laugh just makes me laugh! Everyday when we see Daddy pull up in the drive way we run out to greet him. Cameron gets so excited and bounces up and down in my arms and will sometimes let out a little squeal.

Growing Up!

I think I probably say this alot...but here lately I feel like Cameron is really growing up. He laughs at silly games I play with him, not only reaches out when he wants me to pick him up, but will army crawl to me to get in my lap. It's amazing to think about all he has/continues to take in on a daily basis. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be at home with him each and every day. I love the fact that I don't miss anything with him. I'm so glad I am the one who is able to show new things to him, and introduce stuff to him for the first time. When we go about our days at home he helps me with little chores and I talk him through it while we do things (doing the laundry, planting flowers, picking things out to eat).

I really think he is starting to understand things so much more now. He gives me these looks every now and then like he is just studying my eyes and smile. If he only knew how many times he took at nap and I just sat there and studied his sweet little face...doesn't get any more perfect than that sweet smile and that little dimple on his left cheek. My heart continues to grow for him everyday. Time is going by so fast. When we are out and I see newborns I realize just how much my "newborn" has changed. His sweet little personality is really coming to life and I couldn't be happier with this gift God has given me.

Cameron can hold his own sippy cup and pick up food and put it in his mouth. He is so good with his little fingers, especially spinning things with his thumb. He really loves Elmo now and bounces up and down when I play this Elmo duck video. He still watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I still run in to get him no matter what I'm doing when the Hot Dog song comes on. He also stops whatever he is doing knowing that I'm about to grab him for our little dance.

He is still nursing for his primary food source but is eating more and more table food. We just kinda skipped the whole jar baby food stage. He ate over half of my yogurt this morning and enjoys ANYTHING that I'm eating. He is growing strong and healthy and for that I am so thankful!

My First Teeth!

You can really see them in this pic!
At eight and a half months old you can really see Cameron's bottom two teeth that are coming in. He is babbling alot and I love to see his little teeth when he "talks" to us.

War Eagle!

This past weekend we were able to make a trip to Auburn. Cameron's first trip to the great plains! We stayed at Uncle Nathan's apartment and had a great time! We figured the A-Game would be the perfect game to go to so we wouldn't feel guilty leaving early since tickets were just $5.00. We were able to visit with alot of people and eat some good food too! Thanks to Brodrick we even got to tour the athletic facilities! We were able to meet up with Andrew and Lesley and their daughter Savannah at Daylight Doughnuts. Cameron was very interested in Savannah. We also were able to have lunch with Perry and his family (the campus minister at ACF were Jason and I first met). Here are a few pics from our weekend.

It was extremely HOT at the game. We decided to just stay for the first half.

Cameron enjoyed dipping his hand in this cup of cold water and just swirling it around.

Uncle Nathan and soon-to-be Aunt Cambre!! We love yall!

Cameron may be in shoes this size one day!

Accomplishments!

I remember the first couple of weeks after Cameron was born I learned that taking a shower was a luxury!! He was also eating every two hours and our nursing sessions were extremely long! I'm not complaining I just had to put other things aside. Today while I was in the shower I realized how far we have come. During nap time today I was able to trim the boxwoods in front of our house, bag the scraps up, mow our front yard, come inside take a shower AND shave my legs, dry my hair, put make-up on (which poor Jason normally doesn't see me in much anymore), eat lunch and type this! Now grant it he is getting to nap in his swing, which we rarely do anymore--in fact it has been several months since we have used it, but I decided to pull it out the other day so he could lay in it while watching his Praise Baby DVD.

Oh yeah and this past weekend when Daddy was washing the cars he thought it would be a good idea to give Cameron some blue gatorade!

Other exciting news...at about 7 and 1/2 Cameron starting cutting his bottom two teeth at the same time. Now at 8 months and a week you can see them pretty good!

Sprinkles

So the other day I thought it would be a good idea to make Easter carrot cupcakes! Jason did however get me this awesome kitchen aide mixer so I've been on a cupcake quest lately! Anyways I was going through my cabinet to see what kind of sprinkles I had to use and came across these tiny pastel ones that I thought would work great. The lid was cracked on the side but still sealed with the wrapper. I let Cameron hold them since he was having fun shaking them....you know what happens next right? He dropped the bottle..it cracked...sprinkles went EVERYWHERE. This is what our living room floor looked liked.

I got out the shop vac and did my best to get most of them up while Cameron laid on his playmat. When I finished I just looked at him and laughed...and he smiled right back and laughed too. Fun memories. I'm still finding little sprinkles.

aww man they're gone!

We had a great Easter! Cameron got his first Easter basket. He really liked the green grass inside the basket. We went to Sonday Live and he danced and danced in Daddy's arms and then got sleepy and fell asleep in my arms during the sermon. We sang "Oh how He loves us" I couldn't help but close my eyes and get teary-eyed as I listened to those words while his sweet head rest on my shoulder. My love for my family goes so deep, and to think His love goes even deeper for us is amazing. Thank you Jesus!
Afterwards we had a great lunch over at Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house. Happy Easter!

Paci Pursuit

So lately we have been working with Cameron on how to crawl. He is now eight months old! He is getting so close! Here is the video we got of him today trying to make his way to veggie staws! Notice how I push the napkin forward when he is almost there and then Dad immediantly pulls it back. Way to make him work for it Dad!

Here are a few pictures from the paci pursuit! Play by play:

I see it and I think I can do it!

Look at that determination...he is trying so hard!

Stop for a pep talk from Dad. Ok Dad I'm ready again...

Knees up....

I'm getting happy...so close now!

Just a few inches away now!

Victory!!!
