I stand corrected!
He slept for almost 8 hours straight last night!!!! That hasn't happened since we were in Disney World. Thank you sweet boy! Every now and then he throws me a curve ball...haven't quite figured out all the variables that make that happen, but it sure is nice when it does. The night before Christmas Eve he pulled a 7 hour stretch...so maybe he'll give in and do that atleast once a month :) I'll take what I can get!

Sitting up on my own!
So I know I always talk about how much my little guy is changing, but I am so proud of him for sitting up on his own now! It just seemed like all of a sudden he has great balance and can support himself in an upright position. That doesn't mean he doesn't still fall over...but he is getting very strong! He likes to scoot around now...usually not in a forward direction. The other day I was vaccuming our room and placed him on his mat in the center of our living room. By the time I finished our room I came back out to find him off the mat and blanket and onto our hardwood. He usually ends up going in a complete circle. He can also find his own pacifier now and put it in his mouth by himself. He still drools alot, which makes me think he could be teething soon. We have tried oatmeal, pears, and apples but turns out he doesn't really care much for anything except for whatever I'm eating.
I hear all these stories from other people about their babies sleeping from 7pm-8am...crazy! We are still not there. Cameron still wakes up usually atleast 3 times at night at which I feed him and then lay him back down. I also don't do the "cry it out" method, so maybe that has something to do with it...however I don't plan on doing that. In the meantime we both seem to get enough sleep so as long as things are working we will stick with it as is.
I usually wake up pretty happy in the mornings! Mommy likes to hang out in bed for awhile before we really get up...she gets creative and does stretches with me and sometimes plays like were in a tent under the covers.
I really love this stage! The fact that he laughs at the funny things we do, smiles at us, and recognizes things (like the mickey mouse clubhouse) is so much fun. I also love that he still depends on his mommy and needs me to carry him places. I have a feeling once he is completely mobile and crawling on his own I won't get to do much of that anymore.

What a stud! Jason's mom and step-dad bought this little number for us, so we were styling at church on Sunday!
My favorite place to nap is still here: I think it's something about being cradled closer to what he felt like in my tummy. I usually don't turn the swing on anymore but just lay him in there strapped in once I get him to sleep.
Since I didn't really post any Christmas pictures..here is one of our family of three over at Mom and Dad's house on Christmas Day:
Here is another I took this morning that I really liked....just gazing out the window after I opened the blinds to start the day, not quite fully awake yet.

Oatmeal Take Two.....
New Year and Oatmeal!
This year for New Years I felt really old....Our friends Andrew, Lesley and their daughter Savannah came to spend New Years with us! We went to El Caz for dinner and then came back here for a low-key night. Jason and Andrew got their xbox fix (minor addiction) while Lesley and I played with our little ones and talked about diapers-- Huggies, pampers, naptimes, lack of sleep ect. Neither of us stayed up to see the ball drop...sometimes sleep is just more important! Happy New Years!
Yesterday was a big day--well atleast in my books. Cameron had his first bit of oatmeal! Jason kinda laughed at me because for quite sometime now Cameron has tasted little things here and there anyways. This weekend Mom, Dad, Nathan, Cambre, Jason, Cameron and I all went to Newks for lunch. Afterwards, we went over to Yogurt Mountain for dessert--yummy! Anyways I had a hard time getting a bit in myself since I had big guy in my lap reaching for my spoon of ice cream everytime I tried to bring it to my mouth. The same thing happened the previous weekend when Jason and I went to Costco and visited the snack bar for ice cream...ok so maybe he isn't really interested in food but really likes ice cream--who can blame him?
Oh yeah and on a not-so-healthy note Cambre got a fryer from Nathan for Christmas--we had a fry party!! We still need to tweak a few of the receipes but we had fun with cheese sticks, pickles and fried oreos (sounds terrible for you doesn't it...but every once and awhile I figure you can splurge)
These pictures are not always easy

Last night we pulled out the box of organic oatmeal and mixed 1 tablespoon with 4 tablespoons of my pumped milk--it was pretty soupy and barely could stay on the spoon, but he seemed to like it! He took several bites before getting a little fussy--which turns out he could see the exersaucer in the kitchen and was more interested in playing at the moment. I don't think the oatmeal will be a part of our daily routine yet but I'm glad he seemed to like it. We worked so hard in the beginning to get breastfeeding to work for us and I plan on continuing until he is a year old--but I am excited for him to get to try some new flavors soon!
Our happy boy!

5 Months Old!
Today Cameron is 5 months old! I can't believe how much he has changed since the day he was born. I also can't believe the amount of love I have for him. I honestly can't imagine my life without him. I feel like he has been mine all along. That he is this perfect gift that God had been working on and knew from the day I was born that one day I would get this gift. I love everything about being a mom to Cameron. This morning while I was nursing him something was coming out of the other end that managed to make its way to his back, which lead to a morning bath with the heater on and a nice coating of lotion afterwards. We played for awhile and then I could tell he was ready for his morning nap. Today I just held him in my arms in the glider (colorful Christmas lights still up in his room---we might just leave those be for awhile) with the sleepytime praise baby dvd on. He feel asleep in my arms and I just continued to rock him for the next hour. That feeling is so wonderful and I am so grateful to God and to Jason that I'm able to have this "job" that is really an honor. I love the feeling of him sleeping in my arms. This year I really want to slow down and enjoy each day--usually I'm looking forward to something in the future but right now I don't want to miss a thing with my husband and son. I am so thankful.
