9 Month Dr. Appointment

His new book he got today while were at the doctors office.
I bought this to save for his birthday, but Jason was right...I caved and gave it to him early (only because I thought he was getting shots though!)

Technically Cameron is closer to 9 and a half months now, but today we visited Dr. Russell for our 9 month well check-up. I've got a healthy happy baby boy! Everything checked out great, and the best part was there were NO shots. Cameron has handled them fine the past 2 times but it was a nice break! Apparently at 12 months he will get quite a few though. I may want to reschedule that appointment for a later time in the day so his daddy can come with us. Cameron is such a little flirt he would keep leaning in my arms to see the ladies behind the desk and just smile at them. Several of the nurses commented that they couldn't believe how old/big he is getting...as his mommy I feel the same way!
Here are his 9 months stats:
Weight: 20lbs 7oz (but they also weigh him with his clothes on..so this isn't 100%) accurate--50th percentile

Height: 29 3/4"--75th-90th% tall boy!

Head: 18"--50th-75th

Next time we are there he will probably be walking around on his own..hard to believe!

Mouth is full of strawberries in this picture
actually I'm sure it was strawberries...you can see it in this one..haha

Our Stud Muffin!

He seems to be taking more of an interest in books now! I think it's time to invest in another bath book...he reads this one every night.

One of his favorite places to play is right in front of our fridge with his magnets. He loves to his the sound they make when he throws them on the floor.

Just checking out the lights.

Just thought this one was cute :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was my first Mother's Day with Cameron outside the womb :) I have ALWAYS appreciated my mom, but this year this day took on a new meaning for me. Something about being a mom yourself makes you that much MORE thankful for your own mom. My mom has literally put down everything she was doing at times to come help me out with something (such as her assistance when I was "learning" to breastfeed the first couple of weeks of Cameron's life or day two in the hospital at 5:00am when I called her so Jason and I could sleep and not worry about the little peeps Cameron would make in the hospital room), or set aside a relaxing day to run my errands with me, or has run across town to pick up something I needed just to make things easier for me. Not to mention being there for EVERY important event in my life. The thing that blows my mind is she was/is able to do this for not only me but my two sisters and brother too. She is the kind of mom that doesn't miss a beat. I have gotten a card for EVERY single thing you could get a card for. She has managed to hunt for prom dresses, homecoming dresses, and wedding dresses with all of us. She knows what's going on in ALL of our lives and is the kind of mom that isn't just there but is INVOLVED. She is the person I call for receipes, the person I call when I just want to talk, and the person I call on for every and any questions that I might have myself about "mothering". Her children are her life and I admire her more than she will ever know.

This year I have a much better understanding about the love of a mother now that I am one myself. It is a such a priveledge and blessing to be a mom and I am so grateful to God for the mom that he gave me. I hope and pray that Cameron will look at me the way I look at my mom. I love him more than words could express and I would lay my life down in a heartbeat for him. He is my world.

So I have a pretty wonderful husband too. I woke up this morning to breakfast in bed (sorta). He brought in a homemade omelette and glass of milk on Cameron's highchair tray. We took it out to the living room to eat b/c eating in bed with a 9 month old would be tricky and messy. Jason completed some little projects around the house that he knew I wanted to get done. We went to Chipotle for a great lunch and then headed to Yogurt Mountain (my favorite) and were excited to see on the door "mom's get the first 10oz free"...so we loaded up a cup and added more than we normally would and only had to pay $2! It was unbelievably crowded, but we took it outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and ate it in the grass under a shaded tree. I got to cuddle Cameron and take him on a walk. Later my parents stopped by and we all hung out and ate dinner together. All in all it was a very enjoyable day. I'm so thankful for this challenging but oh so rewarding job of mine!
Sidenote: Cameron does this really funny thing when we try to get him to stand in the grass. He is determined not to put his feet down. When his legs get tired he'll do one foot and just hold the other one up like a flamingo. It cracks us up!

I can't get my feet dirty!

Don't make me do it! I'll just hang here!

Ok I can't hold it...I'll just let one foot touch.

9 Months Old!

Today my little baby boy is 9 months old! Jason has been saying it will be funny when we reach 9 months because we will have had him here with us just as long as he was in the womb...crazy to think about it like that. My has he grown since December 8th 2008 the first time we saw him. He is such a happy little guy!

His 9 month check-up isn't for another 2 weeks but I can tell he has gotten much taller and thinner. He is looking more and more like a little boy and less like a little baby. It is really noticeable when I go back and look at pictures from the previous months.

He can now army crawl clear across the room. He is still not up on his knees but that's not stopping him from getting to go where he wants to go. He very well may end up just walking next instead of the tradition crawl..we shall see. This past Thursday he also pulled up from bottom to standing on his own for the first time! I was sitting on the floor in front of the dryer pulling out things to fold and he was sitting right in front of me on the floor. All of a sudden he grabbed onto the dryer lip and pulled himself up.
I was so proud of him! Today he was in his crib (which by the way he is RARELY in) and did this:

So we already lowered his pack-n-play once he pulled up but now it's also time to lower his crib. Daddy installed safety locks on our dangerous cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom (which we both forget about everytime we open a cabinet). It's kinda sad in a way because I feel like he is growing up so fast (it's a happy sad kinda thing). I think I need to get moving on a few other baby-proofing things around our house too! The newborn baby days are over for Cameron--to think he is only 3 months away from being a one-year-old blows my mind!

Here are a few other pics from our little world lately

My friend Marianne is getting married in August!! (yay!) Jason and I helped host a shower for her and made some chocolate covered strawberries--we had a little extra chocolate so I dipped some apple slices too. That morning I decided to let Cameron have some fun and let us know if they were any good. I think he liked them!

I think I ate too much!

Last night I was in the kitchen fixing a bowl of ice cream when all of a sudden I heard a loud cry. Jason and Cameron were working on some puzzels and apparently Cameron dropped one of the boards on his face! Poor guy and right next to his eye! I let him share my mint chocolate chip and it helped it feel better. I'm afraid that now he is becoming more mobile the boo-boo's might increase :(. I'll do my best to prevent the ones I can though.

Making his specialty omlettes..with a little help!

So very handsome!
