Valentines and Dr. Appointment

Happy Valentines Day!!!
This Hallmark holiday really isn't a big deal at our house...but this little Valentine is:

One of my two Valentine boys!

Wake up Dad!
Jason and I did go see our second movie in the past 6 and 1/2 months! Lucky for us Grandmommy and Grandaddy are such good babysitters! We also cooked dinner at home with Nathan and Cambre (take 2 with the frier!). Jason also finally got to cook some steaks on a skillet. Our house smelled like a steak house..yum!

Gourmet Dinner!

Yesterday Cameron had his 6 month Dr.'s appointment. He is really 6 and a half months old now, but our appointment was postponed due to our Dr. needing to reschedule. So the night before Cameron's appointment I get a automated message to confirm or cancel his appointment. I was holding Cameron and had my cell phone in my hand with it on "speaker phone"...the choices are press "1" to confirm or "5" to cancel...before I could press the bottom to confirm Cameron pressed "5"...I kid you not. Apparently he knew he would be getting shots and thought if he cancelled we could delay them even longer. I made sure to get up plenty early the next morning to call the nurse to confirm that we WOULD be there. Actually Cameron took his shots like a champ once again! The nurse had me hold his legs while he got pricked in each thigh...not a problem. We brought glow-worm along for extra support, but he didn't even cry or grunt. Here are his stats:

Weight: 18lbs 14.5oz (around 60/65th%)--
who knew he would be above average in this category. I'd like to show him off proudly to those few who questioned my tiny baby would be able to breastfeed!

Height: 27.25 (75th%)--we've got a tall boy!

Head: 17.25 (50th%)

The Dr. said he is on track and looks great!!! He was such a trooper even though we were there for 2 hours...I think it was worse on me anticipating the shots. We shouldn't have to go back now until 9 months in May.

My shots were a breeze!

Later that night we had our normal bath. Our favorite time of the day. Doesn't every little boy need a spikey hair picture in the tub?

sleeping so good!

It's difficult to get a family picture on self-timer--even though Cameron isn't smiling in this one it was the best we could get before Church this past Sunday--I was just happy the three of us made it in the frame.

So all of a sudden I feel like Cameron is sleeping really good at night--hopefully things won't change because I am writing this. Last night he went from 8:30pm-6:45am only waking up once to eat. After he was up for about two hours he was ready for a nap, which today I decided I would enjoy with him. In fact we all took advantage of it! Unfortunately his 6 month appointment had to be pushed back until next week since our Dr. needed to reschedule. I was looking forward to Jason being able to come with us for these next round of shots...which I'm not sure how many he will be getting this time (I think 3). Looks like it will just be the two of us next week instead. Hopefully they will go as smoothly as our 4 months shots went. Our little man has been growing in all directions. Jason has commented several times how he was done something that no other Greene or Bookout has done, and that is to be above average in the weight catergory! We found a site where you plug in numbers and it looks like he is in the 60th percentile...we'll see next week what the Dr. says. I'm sure things will change once he figures out how to crawl...but in the meantime I've got a big guy on my hands, especially compared to the tiny 10th percentile baby we had 6 months ago! We always have people telling us what a "happy baby" we have. He really is a happy little guy...rarely cries, and smiles and laughs alot. He likes it when we sing to him. His favorite thing is to have Daddy hold him while he runs around the house letting Cameron "kick" his soft soccer ball. He still sqeals with excitement at bath time and just recently learned how to jump up and down in his jumper instead of side-to-side...which he also still does. He soaks his feet in the sink with me and gives greats open mouth slobbery kisses. We are counting down the days until warmer weather where we can play outside! There are so many things that I'm looking forward to doing with him in the sunshine!

6 months old!!!

Tomorrow my little baby will be 6 months old! It really is hard to believe. As he was sleeping in my arms a few minutes ago on the couch I couldn't help but to sit and stare at his sweet little face. It's not too often I get to just hold him in my arms while he is still, unless he is sleeping or REALLY tired--so I cherish those moments. Don't get me wrong he likes to be carried around and up high with everybody else... he is just a wiggle worm (has been every since his was in the womb). That why I love to just cuddle with him at night. Every night since he was born I have kissed his sweet little forward to tell him goodnight. I don't think Cameron really has any attachment issues at this point, but mommy sure does. I love having him right beside me. My have we come a long way from August 4th when I first held the most precious gift God has given me. The funny thing is I can hardly remember my life before him. This little boy brings me so much joy and happiness. I would do anything for him. As he laid there in my arms I started wondering what kind of things he is going to like...what will be his favorite sport, his favorite color, his favorite thing to eat? What kind of impact will he make on this world. He has already taught me so much about patience and self-lessness. I hope he knows how much I love him.
