War Eagle!

This past weekend we were able to make a trip to Auburn. Cameron's first trip to the great plains! We stayed at Uncle Nathan's apartment and had a great time! We figured the A-Game would be the perfect game to go to so we wouldn't feel guilty leaving early since tickets were just $5.00. We were able to visit with alot of people and eat some good food too! Thanks to Brodrick we even got to tour the athletic facilities! We were able to meet up with Andrew and Lesley and their daughter Savannah at Daylight Doughnuts. Cameron was very interested in Savannah. We also were able to have lunch with Perry and his family (the campus minister at ACF were Jason and I first met). Here are a few pics from our weekend.

It was extremely HOT at the game. We decided to just stay for the first half.

Cameron enjoyed dipping his hand in this cup of cold water and just swirling it around.

Uncle Nathan and soon-to-be Aunt Cambre!! We love yall!

Cameron may be in shoes this size one day!

Accomplishments!

I remember the first couple of weeks after Cameron was born I learned that taking a shower was a luxury!! He was also eating every two hours and our nursing sessions were extremely long! I'm not complaining I just had to put other things aside. Today while I was in the shower I realized how far we have come. During nap time today I was able to trim the boxwoods in front of our house, bag the scraps up, mow our front yard, come inside take a shower AND shave my legs, dry my hair, put make-up on (which poor Jason normally doesn't see me in much anymore), eat lunch and type this! Now grant it he is getting to nap in his swing, which we rarely do anymore--in fact it has been several months since we have used it, but I decided to pull it out the other day so he could lay in it while watching his Praise Baby DVD.

Oh yeah and this past weekend when Daddy was washing the cars he thought it would be a good idea to give Cameron some blue gatorade!

Other exciting news...at about 7 and 1/2 Cameron starting cutting his bottom two teeth at the same time. Now at 8 months and a week you can see them pretty good!

Sprinkles

So the other day I thought it would be a good idea to make Easter carrot cupcakes! Jason did however get me this awesome kitchen aide mixer so I've been on a cupcake quest lately! Anyways I was going through my cabinet to see what kind of sprinkles I had to use and came across these tiny pastel ones that I thought would work great. The lid was cracked on the side but still sealed with the wrapper. I let Cameron hold them since he was having fun shaking them....you know what happens next right? He dropped the bottle..it cracked...sprinkles went EVERYWHERE. This is what our living room floor looked liked.

I got out the shop vac and did my best to get most of them up while Cameron laid on his playmat. When I finished I just looked at him and laughed...and he smiled right back and laughed too. Fun memories. I'm still finding little sprinkles.

aww man they're gone!

We had a great Easter! Cameron got his first Easter basket. He really liked the green grass inside the basket. We went to Sonday Live and he danced and danced in Daddy's arms and then got sleepy and fell asleep in my arms during the sermon. We sang "Oh how He loves us" I couldn't help but close my eyes and get teary-eyed as I listened to those words while his sweet head rest on my shoulder. My love for my family goes so deep, and to think His love goes even deeper for us is amazing. Thank you Jesus!
Afterwards we had a great lunch over at Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house. Happy Easter!

Paci Pursuit

So lately we have been working with Cameron on how to crawl. He is now eight months old! He is getting so close! Here is the video we got of him today trying to make his way to veggie staws! Notice how I push the napkin forward when he is almost there and then Dad immediantly pulls it back. Way to make him work for it Dad!

Here are a few pictures from the paci pursuit! Play by play:

I see it and I think I can do it!

Look at that determination...he is trying so hard!

Stop for a pep talk from Dad. Ok Dad I'm ready again...

Knees up....

I'm getting happy...so close now!

Just a few inches away now!

Viva Las Vegas!

Family Pic in front of the Bellagio dancing fountain!
So Cameron can't say we never took him on any vacations...atleast for the first year of his life! When he was just 3 months old we took a family trip to Walt Disney World and camped at Fort Wilderness with Grandaddy and Grandmommy for 11 nights! He slept the whole way there and back (quick one hour flight). This past week we took plane ride number two. This time we traveled even further to Las Vegas Nevada. Jason had a work conference in a hotel right on the strip, so we found some decent priced tickets and tagged along for the ride. The trip there was much longer than expected over 30 hours longer than expected. We flew out of Huntsville since tickets were significantly cheaper...however due to mechanical issues our plane flight was cancelled (I'm thankful they found the "issue" before we were in the sky). Luckily Jason's parents (Papa and Caki) and Uncle Dave live in Decatur so we were able to hang out with them for the night to catch our plane the following day at 5:25 in the evening. We were supposed to have a 2 hour layover in Atlanta which turned into leaving at 11:00pm! ahhhh! At this point mamma was getting frustrated, but sweet Cameron was such a good little trooper and just decided to make the best of it and make friends with everyone he meet. After he greeted everyone who boarded the plane I nursed him to sleep during take-off and he slept the whole way!!! This flight was much longer, just shy of 4 hours. After two flights, delays, and a long bus ride that stopped every couple of feet we made it to our hotel room at 4:00am Birmingham time!! It was a long day! Our trip back went much smoother, however Cameron decided to only sleep 45 min. which was fine, just a little exhausting entertaining a very bouncy 7 and 1/2 month old in your lap for that long in the sky. He did great though!

During the day Jason had class from 8am-4:30pm so Cameron and I walked around the nearby hotels taking in all the sights and sounds. He loved looking at the fountains and has all of a sudden become much more talkative. My favorite part of the trip may have been the buffet that we ate at. Even though I didn't eat the expensive food (such as the King Crab Legs that Jason ate) I very much enjoyed my mashed potatoes and most of all the desserts! We usually dont' spend alot on eating out--in fact we share alot of meals. This however was a different story for this one night. I was a little anxious spending that much money on food since oftentimes I end up holding Cameron with one arm and eating with the other..I didn't want to spend alot on this meal if I wasn't actually going to get to eat it. My big guy sat in his highchair for an hour and a half enjoying everything with us and looking at the beautiful surroundings! It wasn't until after I had eaten dessert number one that he wanted to sit in my lap--I think it was just easier access to all the goodies that he wanted too.

Here are a few pics from our trip:

Happy St. Patricks Day!
Mine and Cameron's favorite part! He did partake in the desserts with mommy!

Dessert Heaven!!!

I just realized the majority of this post is about the buffet and desserts...hmmm

Jason and I decided this was a good age for Cameron to visit Vegas....much later and we would have alot of explaining to do. However it does look like he is looking at these girls in the background while we tried to get a family pic.

Growing!

Cameron 7 months

Cameron 2 weeks!

I do believe my "little baby" is getting bigger than mamma! This week we've been fighting off a cold! He started feeling yucky around last Friday, but since I know you can't really do anything for a baby's cold as far as medicine goes we decided to wait until Wed. to see how he was doing. When he woke up practically chocking on his "gunk" I decided to go ahead and call. As I expected there was nothing they could do. As new mamma though I wanted to just make sure it wasn't something more serious. Of course when we see the Dr. Cameron is jumping in my lap and smiling (zero coughs or sneezes while the Dr. is in the room with us). Anyways we just kept on with running our humidifer at night, rubbing baby vicks on his chest and using that dang bulb syringe and saline spray (which of course any baby would hate). I think he is finally on the recovering end of this cold...of course it is starting to get me now--but atleast I can blow my nose. Even during his sick week he was still all smiles!

7 months old!

Cold days staying warm at home...with a few outings

So lately we have had some down right cold days!!! On days like this Cameron and I usually stick close to home. There isn't exactly a TON of shopping in the Leeds area without venturing to Trussville or Hoover so most days we stay close to home. Since this is the case there are several employees (MOST) of which recognize and know Cameron and I at our neighborhood Walgreens since it is about 45 seconds from our house. When we just need a quick breath of fresh air that's where we often go. We also took a trip to Lowes this week (which a few of them may know us as well). It's hard to forget such a cute baby I suppose :). Also our normal shopping buddy (Grandmommy) has ventured to Michigan to visit Heather and the kids for the next couple of weeks. On occassion we'll visit Chick-fil-a. Cameron is such a big boy and can now sit in a high chair!

Let's see which toy do I want to play with...

I love the way he smells after bath, and I have a thing for kids p.j.'s too.

You need that evening bath after enjoying pears this much!

We're not crawling yet just rolling around. However he still loves it when we help him stand. I think just would just prefer to walk instead of crawl.

Bring on the warm weather so we can get back to our walks outside...I can already tell he is going to LOVE being outside.
